Source of Ingredients and Mechanism of Action
Matrixyl 3000 consists of two signal peptides (Matrikines) that mimic natural peptide fragments produced following skin matrix degradation, thereby sending a "repair" signal to skin cells.
Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 (Pal-GHK): A fragment derived from the α2 chain of human type I collagen that mimics collagen degradation signals and stimulates fibroblasts to synthesize new collagen and glycosaminoglycans.
Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 (Pal-GQPR): A natural fragment derived from immunoglobulin IgG with immunomodulatory properties, which protects collagen from degradation by inhibiting the inflammatory cytokine IL-6.
Core Efficacy
Promotes the synthesis of collagen and elastin (key efficacy)
The two peptides act synergistically to significantly promote the synthesis of type I collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans (including hyaluronic acid). In vitro studies demonstrate that Pal-GHK at concentrations of 5–10 ppm can enhance collagen synthesis by up to 350% and polysaccharide synthesis by 46%.
Anti-inflammatory protection and inhibition of collagen degradation
Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 reduces inflammation-induced damage to collagen by inhibiting the production of the pro-inflammatory factor IL-6.In vitro experiments demonstrated that IL-6 reduced collagen degradation by 40%–86% (compared to UV radiation control), effectively preserving the existing collagen network.
Significantly reduces wrinkles
Clinical studies have demonstrated that middle-aged and elderly women using a solution containing 3% Matrixyl 3000 experience improvements of 16% to 44% in wrinkle depth, skin roughness, and wrinkle density.Clinical studies have demonstrated a 33% reduction in wrinkle density.
Repair the fibrous network and enhance skin elasticity
It helps reduce fiber fragmentation and supports the reconstruction of the dermal fibrous network in the mastoid region. After 2 months of use, improvement in the fibrous network can reach up to 54%, with significant skin enhancement observed in 71% of volunteers.
Reduce the expression of progerin protein
Recent studies demonstrate that Matrixyl 3000 exhibits regulatory effects on progerin (a denatured product of Lamin A, a marker of aging), reducing its expression and thereby delaying aging at the cellular level.
Promote DEJ thickening
Promotes thickening of the dermo-epidermal junction (DEJ), stimulates regeneration of type I and type VII collagen, and enhances skin thickness, density, and elasticity.
Reference proportions for addition to cosmetics
Soluble raw material (standard version; INCI contains carriers such as glycerol and water)
Drug dosage form | Recommended Addition Amount | explain |
Daily skincare products (creams/lotions) | 1%~3% | Recommended concentration for daily care |
Anti-Aging Essence/Ampoule | 3%~5% | Functional product with clinically validated concentration |
Eye Cream/Cervical Cream | 2%~4% | For anti-aging needs in the periorbital and cervical areas |
Mask (patch/wash-on type) | 3%~5% | Intensive Care |
Professional line products for beauty salons | 5%~8% | Professional-grade high-concentration formula |
Note: Efficacy studies were conducted at a 3% concentration; for efficacy claims, an addition level of ≥3% is recommended. The actual final concentration of active peptides is significantly lower than the added amount in solution.

Formulation Precautions
Administration timing: Add during the final stage of cosmetic production (low-temperature phase), with temperature not exceeding 40°C, and ensure thorough mixing before addition.
pH range: The recommended formulation pH should be controlled between 5.0 and 7.0.
