2% concentration: Typically a formulation specifically designed for women.  This concentration is less irritating and suitable for women with alopecia or mild hair loss. 

3% concentration: Specifically formulated for women; some versions are free of propylene glycol, reducing allergy risks. 

5% concentration: Suitable for both men and women (or exclusive for men).  This concentration acts more rapidly and is recommended for male patients with androgenetic alopecia or female patients with severe hair loss seeking enhanced therapeutic efficacy. 

15% concentration: A high-concentration formula specifically designed for men, typically requiring use only once daily. 

***Minoxidil is classified as a prescription/OTC Category A medication. Its topical formulations (e.g., lotions, sprays, gels) adhere to strict dosage and application guidelines. The recommended usage is 1 mL per application, administered 1–2 times daily, exclusively for topical use on the scalp; oral administration or application to other body areas is prohibited.
